Fight starts in generic battle wasteland on DB Earth, 20 meters apart.
No prep or knowledge.
Goku gets feats from the anime and manga up to just before the first World Martial Arts Tournament. Sanzang gets feats from the FGO.
Standard equipment. Sanzang is powered by a grail.
Everyone in character.
Victory via death or KO.

And? Are you forgetting that even when he was a kid, master Roshi could already blow up the moon? Made even worst when you remember that kid Goku scale to him and eventually surpassed him anyway by defeating King piccolo who himself is stronger than master roshi

Wasn't that a roshi at his very most powerful though?

Should kid goku really scale to that at that point?

I mean...how exactly do you believe Roshi blowing up the moon with a Kamehameha reflects upon Goku? Roshi didn't hit Goku with one of those (nor would he have with the same kind of power), Goku couldn't create a comparable Kamehameha at that point, nor does it imply that Roshi himself could take that kind of blast and survive. And him eventually surpassing Roshi doesn't mean anything since I specified that this is a fight with a version of Goku inferior to Roshi.

Debatable
Goku and Roshi were even during the 21st Budokai and their Kamehamehas cancel each other out when they blasted each other

Goku matched Base Roshi, not the Buff Roshi who blew up the moon

That's why I say "debatable"
Tbh it's not like buff Roshi is that much of an improvement, despite what people want to headcanon. Buff Roshi was still weaker than Old Daimao, who's power level was much less than 260 compared to Roshi's 180

And those Kamehamehas didn't blow up any moons.

Welcome to Dragon Ball
Where SSJ3 Goku ends up being the strongest character in the original manga for having the best on-panel feat
At this point, people should know better than to judge DB's power based on collateral

That's just a fictional problem in general, DB series isn't the only thing affect by this, so it doesn't matter in the grand skim of things
Any way back to the debate, as someone said earlier Buff master cannot be THAT MUCH stronger than kid Goku during their first encounter anyway lore wise anyway
