WINFIELD, Ala. (WTVA) — A tornado touched down Wednesday evening in Winfield.
That’s what the National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham reported on Thursday morning.
The NWS categorized it as a low-end EF-1 tornado. It started around 6:50 p.m.
Marion County Emergency Management Agency Director Eric Terrell reported damage to trees, power lines, a few trees on homes and roofs blown off sheds throughout the county.
He received no injury reports as of Thursday morning.
Winfield is approximately 23 miles east of Monroe County, Mississippi.
Another EF-1 tornado went from eastern Itawamba County off Pate Road and traveled northeast across the state line into Marion County, Alabama, according to the NWS.
It started around 6:45 p.m.
It snapped and uprooted trees, reached a width of 300 yards, had an estimated peak wind of 95 mph, and eventually dissipated along County Highway 94 near Bexar.
Around 6:50 p.m., an EF-1 tornado developed in Alabama, affecting northern Fayette County and southern Marion County in Alabama.
This tornado caused minor damages to homes.
It had estimated peak winds of 95 mph.
